Getting Involved in Ministry
Never confuse "joining a church" with "being a Christian"

Christianity is about following Jesus,
including:
  • experiencing and encountering God
  • developing, deepening, and growing in one's interior and exterior spiritual life
  • attempting to make sense of and to understand God, Scripture, and one's spiritual experience
  • practicing spiritual disciplines, such a Bible reading, weekly worship, and others
  • connecting closely with other Christians, creating a spiritual community (a small group)
  • sharing in corporate worship, fellowship, and ministry with others (a congregation)
  • serving others and working toward the healing of the world (ministry)

One of the tasks of every congregation is to provide opportunities for every person to follow Jesus by engaging in worship, fellowship, and ministry to others. The vestry and staff of St Marks is eager to encourage and assist you in experiencing ministry to others in a way that fits your interests, gifts and abilities, and availability.
