Situation 1: Roads are CLOSED When "ROAD CLOSURES" are declared by the State (MD posts Road Closures here), we WILL ALWAYS respond as follows: a) If Rt 216 is officially closed, we will cancel ALL services, but b) if Rt 216 is NOT officially closed, then see Situation 2 or 3 below. Situation 2: A "SNOW EMERGENCY" is declared by Howard County, but the roads are NOT officially closed: When a "SNOW EMERGENCY" is declared by Howard County, (HoCo posts Snow Emergencies here), we WILL ALWAYS respond by ADJUSTING our Sunday morning schedule, as follows: a) We will delay worship until 11 AM for those who can gather, and b) we will hold only one worship service, and c) we will CANCEL all earlier worship services and Sunday School, and d) we will CANCEL another other scheduled evening events meetings for the rest of the day. If there are no official road closures or declared snow emergency, then see Situation 3 below. Situation 3: When the roads are dangerously icy and/or the church parking lot has not yet been plowed and is inaccessible: When the roads are dangerously icy and/or the church parking lot has not yet been plowed and is inaccessible we MIGHT cancel services even if there are no official road closures or declared snow emergency. So during winter storms PLEASE CHECK OUR HOME PAGE (www.stmarkshighland.com) or CALL 301.854.2304 for a voice mail announcement. Remember: We will post an announcement ONLY if we intend to close. The ABSENCE of any closing announcement on the website and church voice mail announcement means we plan to keep the normal schedule for worship, Sunday School, and meetings.
